The Belmond Andean Explorer
This famous train is a contemporary fairytale set in Peru, it is as lavish as they come, with an exterior painted a magnificent royal blue and white and interiors designed by Inge Moore of London’s The Gallery.
The train travels along through the Peruvian Highlands one of the highest train routes in the world. Choose between a one and two-night journey from Cusco to Puno to Arequipa and vice versa.
Private cabins are roomy and have huge headboards and the furniture inside is nothing short of beautiful. Hand-woven fabrics combined with Alpaca-style textures complete this amazing Peruvian experience.
The Maharajas’ Express
The Maharajas Express could be the ticket if India has always been on your travel wish list.
The train not only transports you to luxurious locations. Its golden interior and amenities like personal butlers and gourmet meals are straight out of a storybook.
The best of India can be seen from the comfort of this luxury train, from the country’s stunning palaces to its vibrant markets. From Delhi to Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra to Jodphur, Udaipur and Varanasi. Itineraries range from 3-7 Nights.
The Ghan and the Indian Pacific
The Great Barrier Reef and the pristine beaches of Darwin are just two of Australia’s many tourist attractions.
Unfortunately, many of these locations are separated by thousands of kilometres. The Ghan and the Indian Pacific provide a unique way to connect the east and west coasts of Australia with remote locations in the Northern Territory.
The Ghan and the Indian Pacific are almost identical sister trains. The Indian Pacific runs from Sydney to Perth, via Adelaide & vv. The Ghan runs from Sydney to Darwin via Adelaide and Alice Springs & vv. Both trains have a few other day stops on the way.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
Another from the Belmond collection. The infamous Venice Simplon-Orient is a luxurious way to travel between some of Europe’s most popular destinations.
This train takes you back in time to the enchanting lands of France, The Netherlands, Austria, Italy, The Czech Republic, and Hungary, with decor reminiscent of the enchanted 1920s. There are several One-night itineraries that can also be combined to extend the experience.
The Rocky Mountaineer
The Canadian Rockies provide a breathtaking setting for this luxurious train, which includes snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and winding rivers.
Inside, you’ll find a relaxing atmosphere and complimentary beverages and nibbles.
The First Passage to the West is a journey from Banff via Kamloops. The Journey through the Clouds itinerary travels from Banff via Kamloops to Jasper and the Rainforest to Goldrush from Vancouver to Whistler to Quesnel to Jasper. All operate in reverse and offer packages to extend your Canadian Rockies experience pre and post.
For unimpeded views of waterfalls and wildlife, upgrade to the glass-domed Gold Leaf Car for the best bucket-list travel experience.
The Glacier Express
No list of famous trains would be complete without Switzerland’s infamous Glacier Express. The journey is 7.5 hours from St Moritz in the Engadin skiing area to the foot of the Matterhorn in Zermatt. The Glacier Express is a narrow-gauge train meaning it cannot run at speed. The scenery on this journey is amazing, through enormous snow-capped mountains, Viaducts that cross deep valleys and blue lakes that sparkle as you pass by. It is, therefore, affectionately known as Europe’s slowest Express train as the slow pace of the journey is all part of the experience. It’s simply more time allowing you to take it all in. In Excellence class, there is even a 7-course meal served over the duration of the journey, including alcohol and other beverages. Reservations and an additional fee apply for Excellence class, an experience to add to the once-in-a-lifetime travel bucket list.
